Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a very superior plantation commodity. Indonesia is one of the largest palm oil producing country. In oil palm nurseries was known as double stage nurseries, namely pre nursery and main nursery. The aim of this study was to determine the appropriate dosage of goat manure and NPK (16:16:16) fertilizer and the combination of the those on the growth of oil palm tenera varieties in the pre nursery period. This research was conducted at the Greenhouse of Agrotech Training Center (ATC) of Sriwijaya University, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research was conducted from September to December 2022. The method used in this study was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) consisting of 4 levels of goat manure treatment and 3 levels of NPK (16:16:16) fertilizer treatment with 3 replications, treatment unit consisting of 3 plants. Then obtained 108 of plants. The treatments is: First factor, namely Goat Manure Dosage (K0 = Control K1 = 250 g plant-1 of goat manure, K2 = 300 g plant-1 of goat manure, K3 = 350 g plant-1 of goat manure), and second factor, namely NPK Fertilizer Dosage (N0 = 5 g plant-1 of NPK fertilizer, N1 = 10 g plant-1 of NPK fertilizer, N2 = 15 g plant-1 of NPK fertilizer). The measurement of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf greenness, and leaf area. The was done results showed that the best dosage of goat manure for the growth of oil palm seedlings was 300 g plant-1 and the best dosage of NPK fertilizer was 15 g plant-1 . Based on the results of this study it could also be seen that there was no interaction between goat manure and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer.
