Abstract

This study discusses the "Women's Representation in Legislative Membership in Regional Representative Coucil of Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra" the purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the women's representation legislative membership in Regional Representative Coucil of Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research method that was used in this research was descriptive qualitative research method. Types and sources of the data obtained through primary data and secondary data with the techiques of collecting the data by using observation, interviews and documentation. This study used the theary of electoral representation according to Pitkin. The results of the study indicate that women's representation in the Regional Representative Council of Ogan Ilir Regency did not reach 30% because of the constraints faced by women, namely the community's view that women are better at taking care of household chores and the support that women have not received, such as support from relatives and also financially.
