Abstract

This study examines the optimization of filing management at the Regional Human Resource Development Board of South Sumatra Province. This study identified three aspects of the filing process. The problems identified relate to records governance. These problems include problems with storage, placement and retrieval of archives. This research was conducted using a descriptive-qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. This study uses Mulyono's (1985) archiving theory that there are three aspects in archives namely storage, placement and retrieval of archives. The results of this study state that filing management at the Regional Human Resource Development Board of South Sumatra Province is not optimal. This is because there are still problems related to archiving aspects, namely, archive storage has not been adjusted to the classification code, archive placement has not used facilities and infrastructure to the fullest and archive retrieval has not been efficient. The advice that the author can give is to carry out routine checks on the governance of archive storage and placement, increase the budget in order to improve the quality and quantity of facilities and infrastructure to support good archiving governance and increase employee awareness of the importance of good archiving governance as a form of accountability employee work.
