Abstract
Human rights violations are violations that often occur in several countries, one of which is Afghanistan. This research aims to find out how the efforts of the United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights are in helping Afghan women after the Taliban rule (2021). Increasing reports of cases of violations of human rights, especially against Afghan women and policy changes that suppress the rights of freedom for women and girls in Afghanistan is one of the impacts of the takeover of the Taliban government in 2021, so this research will examine the extent to which the efforts of the United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights. The research method used by researchers is a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques, namely literature study through secondary sources. This study was observed using the concept of International Organization by Clive Archer which divides into three dimensions. The results of this study indicate that OHCHR has a significant role in helping Afghan women through OHCHR's role as an instrument in conveying information related to the deprivation of human rights experienced by Afghan women by planning special reporting programs and country visits. In the arena's role, OHCHR acts as a forum for individuals and non-governmental organizations to discuss resolutions to help Afghan women. And the last, for the role of the OHCHR actor as an independent actor in deciding the results of discussions in the form of resolutions and as a source of funding to help Afghan women.
