Abstract

The purpose of this research were to: (1) iIdentify the types of household food needs that can be met by the Thursday market for the food needs of rubber farming families in Kasah Village, Muara Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. (2) calculating the contribution of the market for rubber farmers to fulfilling household food for rubber farmers in Kasah Village, Muara Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. (3) analyze the factors that influence food purchases at the Thursday market in Kasah Village, Muara Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. Location determination is done deliberately, the research method used is the survey method. Data collection was carried out in February 2023. The sampling method used was a simple random method with a sample of 30 rubber farmers. Based on the results of the study, there are 47 types of household food needs that can be met by the Thursday market to meet the food needs of rubber farming families in Kasah village, in the form of vegetables, side dishes and fruit. The value of the contribution of the Thursday market to the fulfillment of household food for rubber farmers was 70.63 percent. There are factors that influence the purchase of household food for rubber farmers at the Thursday market in Kasah village, namely: (1) price, ( 2) income, ( 3) location and (4) equipment. The test value of the Coefficient of Determination (R2) is 0.832 which means that the ability of the independent variables together can explain the dependent variable of 83.2 percent. The factors of price and food completeness individually have a significant effect on purchases, while income and location individually have no significant effect on rubber farmer household food purchases at the Thursday market, Kasah Village, Muara Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency.
