Abstract

Garbage is leftover material from household and industrial materials that have undergone several separation processes. Public awareness to carry out waste management is very low, so there needs to be a handling so that landfill does not occur which can cause negative impacts, such as floods, disease outbreaks and so on. This study discusses determining the shortest route for transporting waste in Ilir Timur 3 District, Palembang City by using the Saving Matrix method for the Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model so as to maximize total savings. The MILP model used in determining the route for waste transport vehicles is the Asymmetric Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (ACVRP) model. The data used in this study is secondary data including the type of vehicle, the location of Temporary Disposal Site and the type of Temporary Disposal Site in each work area in Ilir Timur 3 District, Palembang City. The results of the calculations in this study show that the total distance savings in work area 1 is 56.85 km, with the optimal route for TPA Sukawinatan - TPS Jl. Mayor Ruslan Iba - TPS Jl. M. Isa - TPS Jl. Betet - TPS Jl. Ramakasih - TPS Jl. Bambang Utoyo, in work area 2 is 39 km, with the optimal route for TPA Sukawinatan – TPS Seduduk Putih Dekat Kantor Lurah 8 Ilir – TPS Jl. Rajawali – TPS Jl. Dempo Depan Ruko Apat – TPS Jembatan Gledek, in work area 3 is 47.6 km, with the optimal route for TPA Sukawinatan – TPS Jl. Veteran – TPS Pasar Kuto – TPS Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan – TPS Jl. M. Isa Kelurahan Kuto Batu, and in work area 4 is 11 km, with the optimal route for TPA Sukawinatan – TPS Bendungan 10 Ilir – TPS Lr. Masjid 8 Ilir.
