Abstract
Tradition is a way of life and knowledge as well as various life strategies in the form of activities carried out by the local community in responding to problems in meeting their needs and this has been passed down from generation to generation. The aims of this study were: (1) To identify the local wisdom of swamp farmers in Belanti Village, Tanjung Raja District, (2) To describe the behavior of farmers in carrying out swamp rice farming in Belanti Village, Tanjung Raja District. (3) Describe the survival strategies used by swamp farmers to survive with local wisdom in Belanti Village, Tanjung Raja District. This research was conducted in Belanti Village, Tanjung Raja District. The selection of research locations and sampling was carried out purposively. Data collection was carried out starting in December 2022. The research method used was a survey method. The selection of samples was carried out by purposive sampling with the criteria of research respondents, namely rice farmers in Belanti Village who do traditional chicken and duck farming. The results of this study are: (1) The process of rice production still uses traditional local wisdom, (2) The survival strategy implemented in Belanti Village is divided into 3 namely active strategy, passive strategy and network strategy, (3) Farmers behavior in the village Belanti, Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency, there are three aspects, namely knowledge, attitudes and skills.
