Abstract

Vegetable-based insulating oil can be used as an alternative to insulating oil, one of which is palm oil mill effluent. Research on POME oil is still minimal, so it is necessary to carry out Flash Point, BDV, Tan Delta tests to find out the results of the oil characteristic tests. The results of the Flash Point (°C) test with the addition of nano silica of 0%, 0.03%, 0.08% and 0.13% were 150,1°C, 150,1°C 150,3°C and 150,1°C. For the BDV test results, 21 kV, 25 kV, 34 kV, and 29 kV. The Tan Delta test results were 0.192, 0.268, 0.153 and 0.111. After testing, the results of the Flash Point test met the IEC 60246 standard, the BDV test had the potential to meet the standard, namely there were samples that met the IEC 60156 standard, and the Tan Delta/DDF test did not meet the IEC 60247 standard.
