Abstract
Soil is a natural medium used in agricultural activities. In order to grow well, plants need fertile soil. One of the factors that affect the level of soil fertility is pH. At pH 6 - 7 nutrients will be easily absorbed by plants. In order to grow well, kailan plants need soil with pH conditions of 5.5 - 6.5 with sufficient nutrients. Setting the pH is usually done manually or with a conventional system. The conventional way is considered less effective. The tool designed in this research is a system that can control the pH value of the soil in the cultivation of your plants. The working principle of this tool is to read the acidity value of the soil using the E-4502C pH sensor. After the sensor reads the acidity value of the soil, the Arduino Uno will calculate the error value. The error value is then processed using the PID method. the PID controller system is used in making the final decision to maintain the stability of the soil pH to stay at the setpoint value. The setpoint value determined through the PID controller is the setpoint value in the range of 5.5 - 6.5 degrees of acidity in accordance with the pH requirements needed by kailan plants. The PID controller serves to minimize the error signal on the soil pH value reading.
