Abstract
One of the problems that occur in the city of Palembang in the environmental sector is the waste problem. There are many factors that cause waste problems to occur, one of which is due to population growth that continues to occur. The highest number of residents in 2021 was in Sukarami sub-district and Ilir Barat I sub-district so that it has an impact on the accumulation of waste. One solution that can be done is optimizing the route for transporting waste so that no more accumulation of waste occurs. In this study, optimizing the route for garbage collection vehicles was completed using the Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm which was designed in a python program so as to maximize the performance of the ACO algorithm. The purpose of this study was to obtain the optimal route for transporting waste from TPS to TPA in Sukarami sub-district and Ilir Barat I sub-district, Palembang city. The results obtained from this study are in the form of recommendations for optimal routes with minimum mileage in each WK which are expected to be able to help the waste transportation process activities.
