Abstract
Malaria is one of health problems in Indonesia, of which its prevalence spread widely. High mortality rate among the patient becomes a considerable burden. This study aims to produce model of causal, which explain the impact of exogen variable towards endogen variable. In this study the endogenous variables are hospitalization length (y1), and patient cure (y2), while the exogenous variable is patient age (x1), body weight (x2), type of malaria (x3), body temperature (x4), pulse (x5), respiration (x6), intravenous fluids (x7), and blood pressure (x8). Based on the trimming method on path analysis generated causal model that is: y1= 0.266x3+0.268x4+0.659x7+ 0.427ε1 y2= 0.468x3+0.201x6+0.241x7+ 0.256y1+0.388ε1 The model, which was produced in this study, is a simultaneous structural model. The resulting model is a simultaneous structural model. Based on the above model can be seen that the type of malaria (x3), body temperature (x4), intravenous fluids (x7), significantly affect the length of hospitalization (y1), respectively 0.266, 0.268, 0.659 and the influence of other variables outside model of 0.427 types of malaria (x3), respiration (x6), intravenous fluids (x7), length of hospitalization (y1), significantly affected the recovery of malaria patients (y2) by 0.468, 0.201, 0.241, 0.256 and other variables beyond the model of 0.388
