Abstract

The prevalence of Type II Diabetes mellitus cases in the Timbangan health center working area in 2020 reached 0.4% of the total population in the Timbangan health center working area.ROP therapy aims to control blood sugar in Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients. Low knowledge of ROP therapy can make patients with type II diabetes mellitus unable to recognize one of the ways to control blood sugar. causing blood sugar to be high. This study used a pre-experiment method with a one group pretest-postest design. The sample selection used purposive sampling technique with a sample of 37 people. Data analysis using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Sample selection using purposive sampling technique with a sample of 37 people. The results showed that before education was given, the level of knowledge of respondents about progressive muscle relaxation was in the moderate category. After providing education, all participants had a good level of knowledge (76%-100%). The p-value obtained is 0.005 < α (0.05), so it can be concluded that there is an influence on ROP on the knowledge of Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients. Based on the results of the study, researchers expect health workers to increase health education, especially about progressive muscle relaxation in patients with diabetes mellitus.
