Abstract

Latar Belakang : Stroke merupakan suatu keadaan akibat gangguan sistem pembuluh darah otak yang menyebabkan penurunan fungsi neurologis. Merokok adalah salah satu faktor risiko potensial terjadinya stroke. Merokok dapat dikaitkan dengan keluaran fungsional yang buruk pada stroke dan menyebabkan derajat stroke yang lebih berat dibandingkan dengan bukan perokok. Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan kebiasaan merokok dengan derajat stroke pada pasien stroke iskemik di poliklinik dan bangsal neurologi RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Metode : Metode penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan design cross sectional study dan teknik consecutive sampling. Sampel penelitian adalah 46 orang pasien stroke yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Data didapat dari observasi rekam medik dan wawancara terstruktur serta dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik fisher’s exact. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lebih banyak responden yang tidak merokok yaitu 24 orang (52,2%) dan derajat stroke paling banyak adalah derajat sedang yaitu 21 orang (45,7%). Hasil analisis kebiasaan merokok dengan derajat stroke didapatkan P-value sebesar 0,024 (P<0,05), nilai OR 4,5 dan nilai 95% CI yaitu 1,17-17,3. Simpulan : Pasien stroke iskemik dengan kebiasaan merokok memiliki kemungkinan 4,5 kali lebih besar untuk menderita stroke derajat sedang-berat dibandingkan dengan pasien stroke iskemik yang tidak merokok.
