Abstract

Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 has impacted Southeast Asian countries in many ways. Rising prices for energy, food and other commodities have lowered GDP growth forecasts. This study aims to explain and analyze the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on the economies of countries in the Southeast Asian region. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods. The result of this study is that, according to Michel Porter's international trade theory, the existence of an EU export ban hinders Russia's invasion of Ukraine because the resources owned by these two countries are important in ASEAN. nation. In terms of demand factors, this has led to higher energy and food prices, which have an impact on Southeast Asia, and have an impact on competitiveness based on related and supporting industry factors, becoming an opportunity to support the industry's transition to energy. Export bans imposed by Western countries have caused tensions in international trade in exports and imports. While the factors of corporate strategy, structure, and competition of the company can be seen in the opportunities for companies that seek to provide stability to existing economies in Southeast Asia.
