Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan faktor keuntungan relatif antara pepaya Cibinong dan pepaya Bangkok, faktor keuntungan relative yang terdiri dari ; umur kecambah, produksi, jumlah serangan hama dan penyakit, biaya produksi dan harga jual serta pendapatan usahatani. Lokasi penelitian ditentukan secara sengaja (purposive). Metode penelitian dengan metode studi kasus terhadap petani contoh di Desa Talang Jambe Kecamatan Sukarami. Metode penarikan contoh yang dilakukan adalah secara sensus terhadap semua petani pepaya di Desa Talang Jambe. Data primer diperoleh dari hasil observasi dan wawancara langsung dengan petani contoh dengan menggunakan daftar pertanyaan yang telah disiapkan sebelumnya. Data sekunder diperoleh dari instansi atau lembaga yang terkait dalam penelitian ini. Data yang diperoleh dari lapangan disusun secara tabulasi dan dilanjutkan dengan analisa deskriptif dan menggunakan rumus pendapatan. Perbandingan faktor keuntungan relatif antara pepaya Cibinong dan pepaya Bangkok, yaitu faktor keuntungan relatif pada petani yang berusahatani pepaya Cibinong adalah : umur kecambah cepat, produksi buah rendah, lebih resisten terhadap hama dan penyakit, berat buah rata-rata lebih kecil, umur panen genjah, harga jual buah tinggi dan pendapatan usahatani rendah, sedangkan pepaya Bangkok ; umur kecambah lama, produksi buah tinggi, lebih rentan terhadap serangan hama dan penyakit, berat buah lebih besar, umur panen genjah, harga jual lebih rendah dan pendapatan usahatani tinggi.
