Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the effect of dosage N and P fertilizer to the growth an yield of sorghum. The study was conducted in October 2018 to Febuary 2019 at the Experimental Field of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University. Method used in this research was Completely Randomized Block Design with 6 treatments and 3 replications, comprising of 18 treatment units. Each treatment unit consisted of 5 sample plants which total up to 90 sample plants. The treatment consisted of A with a dose of 80 kg N ha-1 + 44 kg P2O5 ha-1, B dose of 80 kg N ha-1 + 88 kg P2O5 ha-1, C dose of 160 kg N ha-1 + 44 kg P2O5 ha-1, D dose of 160 kg N ha-1 + 88 kg P2O5 ha-1, E dose of 240 kg N ha-1 + 44 kg P2O5 ha-1, F dose of 240 kg N ha-1 + 88 kg P2O5 ha-1. The results was that N an P fertilizer did not increase the growth and yield of crop, the best production is the treatment of F with a fertilizer dose of 160 kg N ha-1 + 88 kg P2O5 ha-1 which is 8,93 tons ha-1 with a plant height average 258,80 cm, number of leaves averages 12,93 strands, leaves greenish level average 41,36, age of flowering average 73 days after planting, stem diameter average 1,75 cm, panicle length average 17,71 cm, plant wet weight average 1,36 kg, seed weight per plant average 144,07 g, weight of 1.000 seed average 41,74 g and seed weight per plot average 5,19 kg.
