Abstract

Budikdamber is a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics that using bucket as a rearing container. Application of this system using swamp water as culture media is constrained by low pH. Liming with dolomite lime was carried out as an attempt to increase the pH of the swamp water. This research aims to determine the best dose of dolomite lime to increase the pH of the swamp water for the culture of pangasius catfish and water spinach using bucket fish culture system. This research has been conducted from October to December 2022. The study used a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications namely dose of 0 g L-1 (P0), 0.1 g L-1 (P1), 0.2 g L-1 (P2), 0.3 g L-1 (P3) and 0.4 g L-1 (P4). The result of this study showed that the best dose dolomite lime is 0.3 g L-1 (P3) that can optimize the swamp water pH from 5.0 to 7.4, alkalinity 21.33-30.00 mg L-1, temperature 28.9-29.2 0C, dissolved oxygen 4.83-5.06 mg L-1, ammonia 0.07-0.58 mg L-1, hardness 49.06-65.38 mg L-1, survival rate 95%, absolute weight growth of 16.98 g, absolute length growth of 6.20 cm, feed conversion ratio 1.37, and the total weight yield of the water spinach 28.70 g, during 48 days of maintenance.
