Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine relevant writing regarding the Opportunities and Challenges of Interpol Indonesia in Operation Interpol 30 Days At Sea 3.0 in the Bintan Islands and Batam Indonesia. Descriptive qualitative methods were used in this study, as well as for primary and secondary research data sources collected through data collection methods by way of interviews through the Bagjatinter Set NCB-Interpol Indonesia directly. This study uses the Theory of Institutional Liberalism which is divided into three elements including Cooperation and Commitment, Information and Opportunity, and Reducing Transaction Costs. The results of this study indicate that Interpol Indonesia has opportunities and challenges in Operation 30 Days At Sea 3.0, especially on the issue of waste trafficking, coastal & river pollution, and pollution at sea. Interpol Indonesia has the opportunity to reduce or even have the potential to stop waste crimes, coastal pollution and marine pollution by utilizing information data related to alleged violations committed by irresponsible individuals. However, this opportunity comes with challenges such as the information is still not well established because it is still difficult to track down foreign ships that commit environmental violations in the Bintan and Batam areas. Therefore the researchers hope that Interpol Indonesia can carry out this operation on a regular basis and continue so that the goals of this activity can be achieved, and the targets are in line with what was previously planned Keywords: Opportunities, Challenges, Operations 30 Days At Sea 3.0, Interpol Indonesia, Institutional Liberalism
