Abstract
Gate are much used in irrigation canals to regulated distribution of water to water-using farmers and are aJso used for dnnking water processing plants. Design of gate is influenced by several factors, which one is tide. The rhytmic rise and falls of water and associated horizontal motions of water masses are known as tides. Following Newton’s law of gravity, it is discovered that tides are genereted by the attractions force of moon and sun. Various methods has been developed in analysing the vertical tide. One of them is the method of least-squres which is based on the theory of harmonic analysis. This method is applied in the analysis of tidal data of Telang II in Suoth Sumatera. In the analysis of the existing conditions use HEC-RAS, tide of 17th primary channel Of Telang II infiience the tipe of gate taht suitable to used at this locations. Not only that influence, tide in their flow also bring dangerous subtance to water-using farmers, and make teh material of tide must get teh seriously attention, so that the gate can to fiilfil this conditions. The elevations of high the surface stream flow infuence the locations of gate at Telang II. After the processing of calculations and analysis finished, get result that the gate use at the locations is rectanguler gate and made fforn fiber. Plan of gate have size 1.45 X 0.8 meters and harmonizing with discharge flow and the secondary channel conditions and have high that enough with the high of surface stream flow each of locations has planed will build gate there.
