Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of noise and vibration in animal feed chopper machines. The research was conducted from May 2023 to June 2023 at the Green House of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. The research method used a descriptive method with data presentation in graph, contour, and table. This research was carried out in three stages, namely equipment and material preparation, noise measurement, and vibration measurement. The highest average noise level on the machine for the operator 87.6 dB at the back of the animal feed chopper machine with a rotational speed of 1250 rpm, while the lowest average noise level 73.6 dB at the left ear with a machine rotational speed of 1000 rpm. The highest contour level of noise from the animal feed chopper machine towards the environment at 1250 rpm, which is 88 dB, and the lowest contour level of noise at 1000 rpm, which 68 dB. The highest average vibration level 17.3 m/s at a motor rotational speed of 1250 rpm, while the lowest vibration 7.5 m/s at a motor rotational speed of 1000 rpm.
