Abstract

The focus of this study is analysing ASEAN member countries’ commitment on tariff reduction under CEPT Agreement and its implementation together with Indonesia’s preparation related to establishment of ASEAN Economic Community. This research is using qualitative approach and normative-yuridis methodology. Knowing that ASEAN member countries’ hasn’t fulfill their commitment in time provided. The researcher suggest that ASEAN member countries’ should have greater political will to implement all commitments under AFTA and Indonesia should reform their trade policy on investment, custom procedures and taxation to become key regional player in ASEAN Economic Community. Kata Kunci: CEPT Agreement, Tariff Reduction, AFTA, ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint, ASEAN Charter.
