Abstract

One of the reproductive health issues frequently experienced by adolescents is leucorrhoea. Leucorrhoea is a white-colored excessive fluid secretion from the vagina. It is not a disease but rather a clinical manifestation of an underlying condition. Adolescents are at high risk of experiencing abnormal leucorrhoea. Diseases characterized by abnormal leucorrhoea symptoms significantly affect women's reproductive health, such as infertility and cervical cancer. Therefore, providing adolescents with knowledge is crucial. One effort to impart this knowledge involves health education. Health education is delivered using various media. This research aimed to investigate the difference in the effect of health education through video and leaflet media on the knowledge of adolescent girls about leucorrhoea. The research used a pre-experimental design with a two-group pre-post-test design, and the sample was selected using purposive sampling. The sample size consisted of 24 adolescent girls from MA Muhammadiyah Sinar Negeri. The results of paired t-test analysis indicated a significant difference in knowledge before and after receiving health education through video media, with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), and through leaflet media, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The independent t-test resulted in a p-value of 0.006 (p<0.05), showing a difference in the effect of health education through video and leaflet media on the knowledge of adolescent girls about leucorrhoea. The mean score difference in the video group was 4.66, while in the leaflet group, it was 3.25, indicating that health education using video media was more effective than using leaflet media.
