Abstract

This research aims to design a semi-automatic nutrient solution control system using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller as an alternative to Arduino in a series of NFT hydroponic systems with pakcoy (Brassica Rappa L.) as an experimental plant. The research was conducted from June 20 to July 17 2023. The implementation was carried out at the Santoso Berkah Hydroponic Garden in Palembang City, Kemuning District, South Sumatra Province. The research method used was to design a semi-automatic nutrient solution control system based on NodeMCU ESP8266 by conducting performance tests on semi-automatic hydroponic nutrient control devices based on the parameters of percent error, accuracy, plant height, number of leaves, and fresh weight of pakcoy plants. The results of this study indicate that the average accuracy value generated by the NodeMCU esp8266-based semi-automatic control system tool reaches 94.22% and the error percentage reaches 5.78%. The highest level of accuracy is produced in the second week by reaching a value of 95.49% and the lowest is produced in the fourth week which is equal to 90.85%, because the TDS sensor is less accurate at reading above a value of 1000 PPM. The lowest level of precision was generated by the NodeMCU ESP8266 based semi automatic control system tool reading with the highest standard deviation value of 0.04 and the highest level of precision with a standard deviation value of 0.01.
