Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between government spending in the economic sector, government spending in the education sector and the number of poor people in the previous year on poverty in Indonesia. The type of data used in this research is secondary data. Data source obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Multiple linear regression analysis technique. Based on the results, it was found that government spending in the economic sector had an insignificant negative effect (probability > 0.05). Government spending on education has a partial negative effect (probability < 0.05) and the coefficient is -0.163707. Meanwhile, the number of poor people in the previous year has a significant influence on poverty. Further analysis is needed to improve regulations and set budget targets to make them more efficient.
