Abstract

Being a single parent is not easy because you have to play two roles at once, the role of father and mother. For example, the film titled Yang Tak Tergantikan, which has the theme of Aryati's life as a single parent who is forced to work to support the family needs because her ex-husband is not responsible for his children. The purpose of this research is to find out how the impact of the father's role which is taken over by the mother due to divorce in an Yang Tak Tergantikan film. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research with analysis using the Charles Sanders Pierce analysis method. Which semiotics has three levels of trichotomy, and is classified with nine sign subtypes. The first is Representamen (qualisign, sinsign, legisign). Second, Object (icon, index, symbol). Third, Interpretant (rheme, dicisign, argument). Based on the discovery data, there are 9 scenes that explain the role of the father being taken over by the mother. The results of this study concluded that there is a father's role that is taken over by the mother which does have an impact on the family, especially the children. Based on the analysis of the ideological level, it was found that the ideology of feminism explained that women have the ability to take on roles in society and in the family.
