Abstract
PT Surya Global Makmur is a mining site located in the village of Rangkiling, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province. The coal mining of PT Surya Global Makmur Jobsite Mandi Angin is carried out using the open pit method. The open pit mining method is strongly influenced by the weather so that it has an impact on mining production activities. The mine drainage system occurs if there is water entering (input) into the mine which is then accommodated in a sump ,then pumped out of the mine, the water pumped out of the mine (output) must be neutralized first in the sludge settling pond before flowing into the river. The problem in this study is regarding the mine drainage system for water draining activities. The results of rainfall data for the last 10 years and using a 2-year return period found that the total discharge of runoff water entering the mine with a catchment area of 110 Ha is 9,638 m³/day. The recommended sump in order to overcome the water runoff must be in the form of a trapezoid with a water capacity of 32,027.5 m³. Based on the research conducted, the number of pumps needed for draining is 2 units of DnD 150-4H pumps and 1 unit of Sykes HH 150 pump or using 2 units of DnD 150-4H pumps.
