Abstract

The surge in COVID-19 cases in the city of Palembang and the ease of obtaining information about the number of COVID-19 patients can be used as a testing tool in comparing methods with predictive systems. One of the predictive systems that can be used to process this data is artificial neural networks. In artificial neural networks, predictive systems can be implemented using the backpropagation method and adaline. The backpropagation method falls under supervised learning and has multiple layers, whereas the adaline method also falls under supervised learning but has a single layer. From the experimental results, the predictive system produced an error rate using MAPE of 55% in the backpropagation method with configuration parameters of a learning rate of 0.2, momentum of 0.01, and 100 epochs. Meanwhile, the adaline method resulted in 157% error with configuration parameters of a learning rate of 0.13 and 1000 iterations.
