Abstract

Drug trafficking in Indonesia continues to increase from year to year. The problem of narcotics trafficking in Indonesia is starting to become a serious threat to the Indonesian nation. This is the background for Indonesia to cooperate in order to achieve national interests through cooperation between the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI) and the Australian Border Force (ABF) in eradicating narcotics trafficking. This research uses the theory of national interest proposed by Donald E. Nuechterlein to explain what interests Indonesia wants to achieve in the cooperation between BNN RI and ABF. The method used in this research is qualitative with primary and secondary data sources. The results of this study are from the four national interests put forward by Donald E. Nuechterlein, there are three national interests of Indonesia in the cooperation between BNN RI and ABF, namely Security and Defense Interests, Economic Interests, and Ideological Interests.
