Abstract

This research aims to identify the social and economic functions of the existence of Pusparagam Semagor Park as a public open space for the community in Muara Bungo City. The research method used is qualitative with a case study strategy to obtain depth from the research results. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The research uses the Function Theory of Public Open Spaces by Jan Gehl, namely Meeting Places in the form of Social Activities and Market Places in the form of Optional Activities, namely Economic Activities. The results of research regarding the Social Functions of Pusparagam Semagor Park include three main points, namely: 1) The Community's Place in Social Communication; 2) Recreational Place for the Community in the Center of Muara Bungo City; and 3) Community Gathering Center for Formal and Informal Activities. Meanwhile, the results of the Economic Function of Pusparagam Semagor Park include three main points, namely: 1) Visitor Economic Activities: Culinary; 2) Food and Beverage Traders' Livelihoods; and 3) Places for holding economic activities by regional governments and the private sector, including the Ramadhan Bedug Market and events by licensed private parties, as well as discussing regulations regarding permits and parks as public open space facilities that contribute to local original income (PAD).
