Abstract

This research aims to determine the "Internal Communication Patterns of Employees' Performance in the Post Office of Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency during the Pandemic." The post office provides written and/or electronic mail services, parcel services, logistics services, financial transaction services, and postal agency services. The researcher chose to conduct the study at the Indralaya District post office because Indralaya is the capital center of the Ogan Ilir Regency. The theory used in this study focuses on Joseph A. Devito's aspects of interpersonal communication, which include openness, empathy, support, positive regard, and equality. The research methodology used in this study is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection methods involve interviewing 5 informants, conducting observations, and documenting relevant materials. The data analysis techniques used in this research consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that communication among employees is interpersonal communication during the pandemic. In terms of the dimension of openness, it is functioning well. However, in this dimension, the usage of the PosAja application has not been widely adopted by service users, as they prefer to contact outside of the application. In the dimension of support, it has been functioning effectively. Employees can cooperate when one of them is ill, and there is a supportive attitude among employees in different positions. The dimension of employee equality should improve time discipline in the opening hours of the post office and the implementation of job evaluations related to postal package deliveries.
