Abstract

This study focuses on how the background influences parenting in families who marry at a young age and also discusses what forms of parenting exist in families who marry at a young age in STL Ulu Terawas District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province.. Research uses a qualitative descriptive perspective in this study using qualitative research methods with a fenomenology strategy with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on data from the Religious Affairs Office of Musi Rawas Regency, in 2021, marriage at the age of children will experience a very significant increase, this can affect the parenting style used by young parents due to the lack of mental readiness and sufficient parenting knowledge in having children. In this study, there were 3 forms of parenting adopted by families who married at a young age, namely authoritarian, permissive and democratic. The parenting style adopted by families in the Ulu Terawas STL Subdistrict who marry at a young age is authoritarian.
