Abstract

This research focuses on Social Capital and Business Continuity in the Tempe Crafters Association, Plaju District. Besides that, it also explained about the Linkage of Social Capital with the Business Sustainability of Tempe Entrepreneurs. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the relationship between social capital and the business continuity of the Tempe Crafters Association, Plaju District. The research method uses descriptive qualitative using Robert D. Putnam's theory. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants in this study there are 5 main informants. Based on the results of the research field, the researchers found that social capital is built because of mutually helpful and beneficial cooperation in which it is supported by norms of formality, respect, respect. As well as colored by the values of help, obedience, honesty, achievement and individualism. Business continuity includes 4 elements, namely capital sustainability, human resource sustainability, production continuity and marketing sustainability. The linkage of social capital with business continuity lies in every economic action related to the elements of business continuity which tends to be colored by the existence of social relations in participation activities in networks, exchange activities (reciprocity), trust, norms that mutually beneficial in treating customers, business relations and workforce. Social values also always characterize economic actions such as honesty by tempe entrepreneurs. This linkage proves the truth of Robert D. Putnam's theory of economic behavior which increases the efficiency of entrepreneurs by facilitating coordinated action on individual relationships that can affect individual and group productivity.
