Abstract

Many method of soil improvement in this century are developed. One of soil improvement methods used reinforcement as an alternative of soil satlement and low bearing capacity. Bui many people used geosintetic which from the cost factor expensive. One of alternatives that given in this model used a bamboo grid and bamboo plait that replaced geosintetic for the material reinforcement of shallow foundation in clay soil. The purpose from this modeling is to know the value of bearing capacity and Bearing Capacity Ratio (BCR) with bamboo grid and bamboo plait of reinforcement. more Modeling of shallow foundation helped with the Plaxis program. The parameter which investigated is influence between the distance variation and number of layer with same broad of reinforcement about the value of bearing capacity refered from graphic connection between satlement and force that result from the output of Plaxis program. The result of this model obtained that added three layer s of reinforcement with 0,25 B of distance variation has given highest impact on bearing capacity that is 409,537 kPa. From this model can be seen that closer distance of reinforcement from base foundation and more number of reinforcement ’s layer will increase bearing capacity of soil.
