Abstract

This study aims to determine the best effect of Osmoconditioning using KNO3 to increase the invigoration of rice seeds of Inpari 32 varieties that have experienced deterioration. This research was conducted at the Seed Technology Laboratory of the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Sriwijaya University, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. This study used the Complete Randomized Design (CRD) method with 5 concentrations, each treatment was repeated 4 times, so there were 20 experimental units, each replicate contained 50 seeds. The invigoration treatment using the osmoconditioning method consists of P0 = using 500ml Aquades (hydropriming); P1 = KNO3 0.5% + 100ml Aquades; P2 = KNO3 1% + 100ml Aquades; P3 = KNO3 1.5% + 100ml Aquades; P4 = KNO3 2% + 100ml Aquades. Parameters observed included germination, growth rate, sprouting uniformity, dry weight of normal sprouts, vigor index, hypocotyl length, radicle length. The results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that invigoration using the method osmoconditioning with KNO3 on rice seeds for 7 months, there was a significant effect on germination, growth speed, simultaneous growth, dan vigor index
