Abstract
This study examines the role of ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes) in reducing child sexual exploitation cases in Thailand from 2016 to 2020. ECPAT is a non-governmental organization committed to safeguarding children's rights and combating commercial sexual exploitation of children. The study analyzes ECPAT's strategies and initiatives during the specified period, focusing on awareness-raising, policy advocacy, and collaboration with stakeholders. The findings indicate that ECPAT played a vital role in decreasing the prevalence of child sexual exploitation in Thailand. Through its efforts, ECPAT facilitated improved legislation, enforcement, and protection measures, creating an inhospitable environment for perpetrators and safer conditions for children. The organization's prevention and victim support services also contributed to the overall decline in exploitation cases. However, the study highlights challenges faced by ECPAT, including limited resources and the need for sustained collaboration among stakeholders. Recommendations are provided to enhance ECPAT's impact, emphasizing the importance of continued government support and societal engagement. This research underscores the significant role of ECPAT in reducing child sexual exploitation in Thailand from 2016 to 2020. It underscores the organization's multifaceted approach and the necessity of collective efforts to protect children and eliminate this abhorrent crime.
