Abstract

On April 2016, a landslide occurred at Bangko - Sei Manau road section. The area of Bangko - Sei.Manau road section km 256-257 which was the location of this study is an area that is vulnerable to landslide due to the its place at the highlands area. Landslide causes the soil on the edge of the road eroded and collapse. For coping with the slope that has been suffered landslide and preventing the occurrence of further landslide, hence it requires a reinforcement to hold the slope. An analysis was conducted by using geotextiles as slope reinforcement on the road section. Geotextile used was woven type with tensile strength of 60 kN/m' and the thickness of the geotextile layer used was 1 m with the number of 18 layers. The results of the analysis on the original slope condition showed the safety factor value obtained less than 1.25 means that the slope was in a condition of unstable or has suffered a collapse with value obtained of 0.564 with Morgenstem-Price method, 0.750 with Bishop method, and 0.695 with Janbu method for Km 256 + 520. For Km 257 + 335 the values obtained were of 0.829 with Morgenstem- Price method, 0.983 with Bishop method, and 0.933 with Janbu method. The slope safety factors after reinforced with geotextile for Km 256 + 520 were 2.033 with Morgenstem- Price method, 2.034 with Bishop method, and 2.063 with Janbu method and for Km 257 + 335 the security factors obtained were 1.501 for Morgenstem-Price method, 1.514 for Bishop method, and 1.420 for Janbu method.
