Abstract

Gasification technology is currently growing with various types of gasification reactors. The various types of reactors also have the type and character of the feeding material which is suitable as a raw material to produce synthesis gas. In addition, Indonesia also has various levels of coal quality, so it is necessary to carry out research studies related to determining the type of gasification reactor according to the rank of coal. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was chosen to make decisions regarding the selection of the gasification reactor to be used. There are three types of respondent groups selected to analyze the reactors to be selected for Coal Gasification namely practitioners, government, and academics. The results showed that the respondents preferred the entrained flow reactor as a suitable reactor for coal at the research location with the criteria of % H2 and % CO and the characteristics of the coal being the main criteria in selecting a gasification reactor.
