Abstract

Giving blood supplement tablets to adolescent girls is important as a provision for the future and also to improve health status. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with the administration of blood supplement tablets among adolescent girls from schools in Indonesia. This study is a quantitative research with cross-sectional design. The study sample size was 13.770 female adolescent respondents aged 10-19 years. The dependent variable in this study was the provision of blood supplement tablets to adolescent girls at school in the last 12 months. Data were analyzed using Quantum GIS and binary logistic regression statistical tests. showed that the proportion of adolescent girls out of 13.770 adolescent girls in the last 12 months, there were 73% of adolescent girls who had received blood supplement tablets, but the proportion of adherence to blood supplement tablets among adolescent girls was still very low because it only reached 1,1% of adolescent girls who successfully consumed blood supplement tablets with a total of ≥52. The highest distribution of blood supplement tablets was in the Sulawesi region at 81,2%. The lowest distribution of blood supplement tablets was in the Papua region at 6,8%. Adolescent girls who live in Sulawesi have a higher chance of giving blood tablets than other regions. Variables associated with the provision of blood tablets include region of residence, education of adolescent girls, father's education, mother's education, menarche. This study shows that there are differences in the provision of blood supplement tablets for adolescent girls between regions in Indonesia. It is hoped that the government will make a creative breakthrough in the ifas program by campaigning for the importance of taking blood tablets for adolescent girls as a provision for their future
