Abstract

The main route of HIV transmission in the world is through sexual transmission by Men who have Sex with Men (MSM). MSM are a group indicated to often engages in risky sexual behavior in the form of having sex without a condom, anal, having many sex partners, buying and selling sex, changing and exchanging partners, and having sex parties. This study aims to determine the determinants of the frequency of risky sexual behavior in MSM. This is quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The sample in this study amounted to 156 people, obtained using the purposive sampling technique. The data analysis methods used in this research are Chi-Square Test and Multiple Logistic Regression Test Prediction Model. The results of the analysis showed 84 respondents (53,8%) had a high frequency of risky sexual behavior. There was a significant relationship between the number of partners (p-value = 0.000), online dating media (p-value = 0.000), and social environment (p-value = 0.011) with the frequency of risky sexual behavior in MSM. The variable number of sex partners (p-value = 0.000) was the most dominant factor in influencing the frequency of risky sexual behavior in MSM. It is necessary to optimize prevention and control programs for risky sexual behavior in the form of early detection, education, and socialization, especially through online media. The role of society and family also needs to be optimized in forming healthy relationships and social environments without discrimination.
