Abstract

The province of South Sumatra is one of the provinces that has a high prevalence of diarrhea in young people. Therefore, it is necessary to perform spatial analysis of diarrhea in young people in an attempt to generate information about the association of the region with the occurrence of the disease. This research is a descriptive epidemiological study with ecological studies and using correlation studies. The research population is the entire administrative work area of the districts or towns in the Province of South Sumatera, which comprises 13 counties and 4 cities. The data used is secondary data taken from the Ministry of Health, BPS and BMKG of the Province. The variables studied are the prevalence of diarrhea in the newspapers, adequate access to drinking water, access to healthy shelters, population density, rainfall and temperature. Data analysis techniques univariate and bivariate using spss and data analysis techniques spatially using the QGis application. Data are then presented in the form of tables, maps and narratives that interpret the data. The results show that districts and cities with high prevalence of diarrhea are almost scattered throughout the province of South Sumatra. High spread patterns of news diarrhea tend to be more prevalent in districts where the population has low decent access to drinking water, high access to healthy swamps, high population density, high rainfall and qualified temperatures. It is recommended that the provincial government undertake preventive and promotional efforts in priority areas, those with adequate access to drinking water and low access to healthy marshes. Such efforts can be made by involving community cadres to conduct sustained monitoring, monitoring and monitoring for good hygiene and sanitation behaviour
