Abstract

Female sex workers are one of the high-risk populations in many sexual partners. From a health perspective, sex workers are considered as a source of media for the spread of infectious diseases including HIV/AIDS and STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections). This study aims to analyze the health risks of female sex workers (PSP). This research is a cross sectional study design with primary data through interviews and direct observation of respondents using purposive sampling techniques. The sample of this study was 162 people, namely PSP who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of the Bivariate Analysis showed that there were several variables that had a statistically significant relationship, namely using the Fisher's exact test on the age variable, the Chi-Square test on the PSP reason variable in the category of work reasons and the knowledge variable with a p-value (<0.05). Multiple Logistic Regression Tests resulted in the variable reason being PSP in the category Reason for work (p-value 0.039; PR 2.694; Cl= 1.049-6.917) the most dominant significantly influencing health risks in Female Sex Workers (PSP). PSP with the reason of work has a 2.7 times higher risk than environment reasons after controlling for the variables of age, education, sexual orientation, knowledge and access to health facilities. It is hoped that this research can provide input for policy makers in order to strengthen programs with PSP populations in order to minimize health risks such as HIV/AIDS and STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections).
