Abstract

This thesis entitled the influence of Problem Solving method to student learning outcomes on history subjects in class X SMA Negeri 1 MendoBarat Bangka. The formulation of the problem in this research is How the influence of Problem Solving method on the results of student learning on the subject History in SMA Negeri 1 MendoBarat Bangka. This research uses experimental method that is by treatment and without treatment. The population of this study was 171 students, while the samples were taken with Random Sampling technique to get the sample of 74 students. The experimental class (class X IPA 1) was 37 students and the control class (class X IPA 2) was 37 students. Data collection is done through the implementation of tests both pree test and post test amounting to 25 problems in the form of multiple choice. The results of this study showed that, class experiments obtained average learning outcomes final test students of 79.43, while the control class average student learning outcomes obtained in the final test of 68.86. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by using t test with significant level α = 0,05 and dk = n1 + n2 - 2 = 72 that is 1.66, obtained hypothesis test t count equal to 4.76 because t count> t table (4,76> 1.66) then accept Ha and reject Ho, meaning learning history by applying the method of Problem Solving gives influence to student learning outcomes in class X SMA Negeri 1 MendoBarat Bangka.
