Abstract
ChatGPT is a web-based chatbot application developed by OpenAI. Since its launch in November 2022, it has received lots of coverage for its ability to generate very human-like responses. However, concerns have been raised about the potential spam and disinformation that can be generated. For this reason, it is necessary to develop a tool that can detect ChatGPT-generated text. This research uses the Convolutional Neural Network method and GloVe pre-trained word embedding to classify human and ChatGPT answer text. Using the reddit_eli5 dataset from the Human ChatGPT Comparison Corpus (HC3), the CNN method was shown to produce an accuracy value of 98.45% and an F1-score of 98.45%.
