Abstract

This research discussed about "The Pattern of socio-economic network of ornamemal wood entrepreneurs in Jalan Faqih Jalaludin Village 19 Ilir Bukit Kecil Sub-district Palembang City". The problems studied in this research is haw the strategy of development and pallern of socio-economic network in ornamental wood carving business in Jalan Faqih Jalaludin Village 19 flir Bukit Kecil Subdistrict Palembang City. This research design used descriptive qualitative. The unit of analysis is business group of ornamental wood carvings at Faqih Jalaludin Street in Palembang. Data were collected by observation, interview and documentation. Verification and data validity used source triangulation techniques, method triangulation, and data triangulation. The results showed that wood carving business development strategy at JI. Faqih Jalaludin Subdistrict 19 Ilir Bukit Kecil Sub-district Palembang City, there are three strategies: product development strategy, sales strategy, and network integration. The product development strategy is lo improve product quality. see the market trends for customer satisfaction keep maintained. The increase of distribution channels, branch offices, enhancing advertising and promotional programs is a sales strategy as well as network integration among carving entrepreneurs, engravers, material suppliers and consumers can be done by always keeping commitments between networks. The pattern of socio-economic network of wood carving business formed the horizontal pattern that has the same position and need each other.
