Abstract

Background: The anxiety felt by hemodialysis patients comes from limited physical activity, changes in self-concept, family economic status and dependency. There are several non-pharmacological therapies that can be done to reduce anxiety levels, one of which is doing Islamic spiritual mindfulness therapy. Islamic spiritual mindfulness is a practice that involves Allah SWT as the Almighty God over all things, so that it can help individuals to realize and understand that the current condition is not a coincidence but rather an event or test from Allah SWT from which wisdom can be learned. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of Islamic spiritual mindfulness therapy in reducing anxiety levels in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. Results: The results of measurements using the HARS instrument showed that the patient's anxiety level before the intervention was given, the majority of patients experienced moderate anxiety, whereas after being given the Islamic spiritual Mindfulness therapy intervention every day in 3 meetings, the patient's anxiety decreased. Conclusion: Providing Islamic Spiritual Mindfulness therapy has the effect of reducing anxiety levels in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
