Abstract

One of the things that affects the water distribution process is energy loss or head loss. Several conditions have an influence on fluid flow losses, such as friction on the pipe walls, bends, enlargement or reduction in the pipe, and other variables so that the pressure in the pipe decreases. Calculation of fluid flow rates in pipe networks shows the relationship between power loss and flow rate. If the flow is greater with a high head loss coefficient, then the head loss at each pipe length will be greater. Minor head loss is a loss that occurs due to fluid flow losses in cross-sectional pipe connections. The connections in question include the addition of bends, elbows, fittings, and sudden changes in cross-sectional area. The parameters required are pipe diameter (D), flow rate (Q), pressure height difference in the manometer (Δh), and pipe elbow angle (θ) with 2 different materials to get the loss coefficient value (K). In this research, the largest head loss (hL) value was found at an angle of 180 with a D variation of 22 mm, PVC elbow material with a flow rate of 20L/min, namely 0.0618 m. Meanwhile, the smallest head loss value is at an angle of 45, variation D 32, flow 5L/min with GALVANIZED elbow material, namely 0.0013 m. Where PVC headloss is greater than GALVANIZED and gets a coefficient value (K), the largest average minor loss coefficient value is found in the D 26 mm variation at an angle of 180 of 2.073186 in the PVC elbow variation. Meanwhile the lowest K value is in the D 32 mm variation at a 45 angle of 0.298292 for the GALVANIZED elbow variation
