Abstract

Telah dilakukan pembuatan biobriket dari limbah kulit durian menggunakan perekat kulit pisang raja dan tapioka dengan variasi waktu dan temperatur karbonisasi yang bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh variasi waktu dan temperatur karbonisasi terhadap analisis proksimat biobriket dari limbah kulit durian yang dihasilkan. Kulit durian dikarbonisasi menggunakan furnace pada temperatur 400, 500, 600°C dan waktu 30, 60, 90 menit. Komposisi briket dibuat dari 80 gram kulit durian, 20 gram perekat kulit pisang raja, dan 30 gram tapioka. Karakterisasi biobriket limbah kulit durian berupa penentuan kadar air, kadar abu, kadar zat terbang, kadar karbon, dan nilai kalor. Kadar air dan kadar abu akan mempengaruhi nilai kalor yang dihasilkan. Waktu dan temperatur karbonisasi berpengaruh pada kadar zat terbang yang dihasilkan dimana semakin tinggi waktu dan temperatur maka kadar zat terbang akan semakin sedikit. Kadar karbon berbanding lurus dengan nilai kalor, jika kadar karbon rendah maka nilai kalor juga akan rendah, karakterisasi biobriket sesuai dengan SNI. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai optimum pada temperatur 400oC dan waktu 60 menit dengan kadar air sebanyak 3%, kadar abu 8%, kadar zat terbang 52%, kadar karbon 37%, dan nilai kalor 15036,63 Cal/g. It has been carried out the manufacture of biobriquettes from durian peel waste using plantain peel and tapioca adhesives with variations in carbonization time and temperature which aims to determine the effect of variations in carbonization time and temperature on proximate analysis of biobriquettes from durian peel waste produced. Durian peels were carbonized using a furnace at 400, 500, 600°C and 30, 60, 90 minutes. The briquette composition was made from 80 grams of durian peel, 20 grams of plantain peel adhesive, and 30 grams of tapioca. Characterization of durian peel waste biobriquettes in the form of determining moisture content, ash content, fly content, carbon content, and calorific value. Moisture content and ash content will affect the heating value produced. Carbonization time and temperature affect the level of fly matter produced where the higher the time and temperature, the less fly matter content. Carbon content is directly proportional to the calorific value, if the carbon content is low then the calorific value will also be low, characterization of biobriquettes in accordance with SNI. Based on the results of the study, the optimum value was obtained at a temperature of 400oC and a time of 60 minutes with a moisture content of 3%, ash content of 8%, fly substance content of 52%, carbon content of 37%, and calorific value of 15036.63
