Abstract

The transition of advanced undercut to w-undercut will cause a difference in the undercutting speed schedule. This is because the volume of the w-undercut is larger than the advanced undercut, causing changes to the draw bell availability speed. This research aims to analyze the undercutting activities of advanced undercut transition to w-undercut transition at PT Freeport Indonesia underground mine. Primary data in this study are obtained from observations and measurements, which include Drilling process undercutting actual data, drilling rate, solo drill down time, Swell muck actual data, Historical mucking W-undercut, Brow actual distance to muck raise, loading sheet, emulsion data, detonator data. Secondary data was obtained from solo drill specification data, LHD GR1600 specification data, worksheet, loading sheet, blasting method, re-entry protocol, DMLZ underground mine map, a geological map of the study area, W undercut design, and historical explosive data. The undercutting activities at the DMLZ mine undercut level are survey marking, ring drilling, measuring holes, re-drilling, loading, and blasting. Cycle time for undercutting activities at the DMLZ mine requires 11 shifts to carry out blasting activities to the next blasting. Tool availability and effective working hours of tools affect undercutting activities with actual PA & UA solo drills and CAT1600GR LHD.
