Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had the greatest impact on the psychological condition of health workers who work in hospitals. The psychological disorders felt by health workers, especially nurses, are caused by work stress due to increased work load and speed in caring for patients, inadequate medical environment and equipment, busy work schedules and various conflicts between workers in hospitals. The aim of this research is to analyze work stress among nurses at Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital, South Sumatra Province during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 102 nurses selected using cluster sampling. Data was obtained through observation, questionnaire results, in-depth interviews by clinical psychologists and document review. Data processing uses SEM-PLS for path analysis and SPSS to carry out data analysis. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, 73.5% of nurses are not at risk of experiencing work stress while 26.5% are at risk of experiencing work stress. Individual factors including age, gender, educational status, marital status, work shift and work period do not influence work stress among nurses at Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital, South Sumatra Province because the P-value is > 0.05. Meanwhile job stressors include job demands, control over work, peer support, relationships at work, roles in organization, change and how it's managed can influence work stress because the P-value is <0.05. It can be concluded that job demands, roles in the organization and support from managers and colleagues are the dominant job stressor factors (predictors) that influence the work stress of nurses at Siti Fatimah Hospital, South Sumatra Province during the Covid-19 pandemic. Nurses' work stress conditions are influenced by job stressors but are not influenced by individual factors. Key Words : Analysis of Work Stress, Nurses, Palembang Bibliography : 59 (2005-2022)
