Abstract

Palembang City has the highest level of violence against women in recent yearsin the South Sumatra Province region. Handling of victims of violence against womenhas been attempted in various ways, both through prevention and protection.Treatment is carried out so that victims can feel safe and protected. This research aimsto find out and analyze the strategies carried out Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuandan Perlindungan Anak (DP3A) in handling victims of violence against women inPalembang City. This research uses qualitative methods by providing a detaileddescription based on the results of observations, interviews and documentation. Theresults of this research show that the Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan danPerlindungan Anak (DP3A) has several strategies for handling victims of violenceagainst women which have been implemented and are working well, but are not yetoptimal because there are still several things that are obstacles in implementing thesestrategies. Based on the results of this research, the author makes suggestionsregarding the need to improve the quality and quantity of human resources,transportation, budget, technology and infrastructure in order to improveperformance in handling victims of violence against women.
